Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate shared infrastructure connecting Claude and other LLMs to internal systems, tools, APIs, and data sources.
- Build and operate MCP servers, integrations, hosted automation infrastructure, and production-quality workflow orchestration.
- Harden AI systems for production through reliability, observability, evaluations, access boundaries, audit trails, and appropriate data handling.
- Partner with Operations, Compliance, Growth, and Finance to ship initial AI workflows and enable teams to operate independently through templates, patterns, guardrails, and teaching.
- Serve as the technical counterpart to Security for AI platform access, data boundaries, auditability, and regulatory considerations.
- Adopt and extend existing platform and engineering infrastructure instead of creating unnecessary parallel systems.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a scale-up in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, applied AI engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience shipping production AI agents and end-to-end automations that other people depend on, rather than prototypes.
- Experience securely connecting LLMs to internal tools, APIs, and data sources; experience building or operating MCP servers is a strong plus.
- Experience building and running production-quality workflow automation and orchestration infrastructure; Upvest uses n8n.
- Experience collaborating with Security on access control, data boundaries, and audit trails without owning security decisions.
- Experience in fintech or a closely adjacent regulated industry and familiarity with compliance constraints.
- A pragmatic platform mindset, including the ability to define ROI, iterate, ship narrow solutions, and choose deterministic automation over complex agents when appropriate.
- Ability to enable other teams to adopt and operate systems independently.
- English proficiency is required; German is a plus.
- This is an applied and deployment-focused AI role, not a data science, model-training, or ML-pipeline role.
Benefits
- €20,000 per year for AI tools.
- €1,500 annual budget for personal and professional training.
- 30 days of annual leave, sports benefits, confidential professional coaching, and the option to work remotely abroad for up to 183 days per year.
- Employee equity program and competitive salary.
- Berlin-based role with a flexible work environment.
- Company-wide events, dinners, offsites, and holiday parties.
