Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and reliability of backend systems for prediction markets.
- Architect distributed systems with strict correctness guarantees for clearing and settlement workflows.
- Drive the technical strategy for transitioning to a fully Coinbase-operated exchange.
- Lead collaboration with Product, Compliance, and Risk teams to meet regulatory requirements.
- Set high engineering standards for code quality and operational rigor across the team.
- Identify shared infrastructure opportunities with other engineering teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with high-availability systems.
- Proven experience in designing systems where financial correctness is critical.
- Experience leading complex technical projects and cross-team coordination.
- Deep proficiency in at least one backend language like Go or Java.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising standards for design and code quality.
- Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly in engineering workflows.
