Responsibilities

Define SLA, SLO, and SLI targets and agreements for products, platforms, and services.
Design and implement resilient solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
Automate manual operational work and reduce toil through automated processes, services, and CI/CD improvements.
Develop observability solutions to measure and report SLA adherence.
Optimize IT infrastructure and operations costs through FinOps practices.
Manage critical situations and automate SOPs and runbooks.
Analyze data and system trends and troubleshoot performance, scalability, and availability issues.

7+ years of experience with software product engineering principles, processes, and systems.
Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, a web server, an application server, and a major relational database management system.
Experience with at least one CI/CD tool and one infrastructure-as-code tool.
Experience with cloud technology, containers or orchestration platforms, and reliability monitoring tools.
Experience monitoring Linux/RHEL operating-system performance parameters.
Experience with observability and application-performance monitoring tools, log and metric consolidation, and the ELK Stack.
Knowledge of queuing models, thread pools, web services, SOA, ESB, RESTful services, application design patterns, J2EE architectures, microservices, Spring Boot, and cloud-native architectures.
Proficiency in Java runtimes, Core Java, garbage collection, and JVM parameter tuning.
Experience tuning application-server performance, generating and analyzing thread and heap dumps, and tuning database queries.
Knowledge of database designs and models.
Knowledge of at least one automation scripting language such as Python.
Mastery of collaborative software development using Git, Jira, and Confluence.
AI/ML and data analytics knowledge and experience are desirable.
