Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, resilient full-stack systems supporting core platform capabilities.
- Architect high-traffic distributed systems across multiple domains.
- Design robust, intuitive, evolvable APIs and service contracts, especially using GraphQL and REST.
- Define and enforce API design, documentation, versioning, observability, and governance standards.
- Create precise, consumable, and scalable technical specifications.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and performant code for multi-threaded and highly concurrent systems.
- Lead complex technical initiatives from design through production rollout.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture decisions and cross-domain technical alignment.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, Data, and Business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews and mentor engineers across teams.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, reliability risks, and scaling challenges.
- Drive technical strategy, engineering quality, operational excellence, and API consistency across teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the software industry.
- Deep expertise in at least one of Java, Python, or Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of SOLID software design principles and design patterns.
- Expertise in GraphQL schema composition and evolution, user-focused APIs, query-performance optimization, and backward compatibility at scale.
- Proven ability to design and operate GraphQL APIs in large-scale systems, alongside REST and RPC architectures.
- Strong understanding of API architecture, versioning strategies, and efficient data-fetching patterns.
- Expert-level understanding of multi-threading and concurrency, distributed-systems design, and enterprise-scale architecture.
- Ability to create clear, consistent, and well-documented service contracts and technical specifications.
- Experience driving API design standards, consistency, and governance across teams.
- Experience with agentic coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
- Experience building and scaling high-traffic, transaction-heavy systems.
- Strong understanding of system performance, availability, and observability.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Preferred experience with Federated GraphQL architectures such as Apollo Federation.
- Preferred experience designing and scaling frontend systems using TypeScript/JavaScript and frameworks such as React.
- Preferred experience with microservices, cloud-native architectures, large-scale platforms, multi-tenant architectures, search systems, recommendation engines, pricing systems, or payment flows.
- Experience driving technical strategy across multiple teams is preferred.
