Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and Laravel.
- Build APIs, work with databases, and use Laravel features including queues, events, and scheduled tasks.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Create and maintain automated tests and improve testing automation with QA and other developers.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues and contribute to technical discussions.
- Break development work into tasks and provide input into estimates and delivery planning.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, designers, project managers, and clients.
- Use and critically review AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and research.
- Participate in client and project meetings and communicate progress and blockers.
Requirements
- Commercial experience developing and maintaining web applications within a multidisciplinary development team.
- Good experience with PHP and Laravel, including APIs, databases, queues, events, and scheduled tasks.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and maintainable reusable code.
- Experience writing automated tests with PHPUnit and/or Pest.
- Experience with modern front-end development and JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive web development.
- Experience with Git, structured development and deployment processes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment.
- Strong independent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience using AI tools for software development, testing, documentation, or technical research, including validating AI-generated code for quality, security, accuracy, and maintainability.
- Preferred experience with Docker, AWS, Azure, RESTful APIs, application performance optimization, modern JavaScript tooling, front-end build processes, AI technologies, React Native, or other mobile application frameworks.
