Base Salary
$176k - $196k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production-grade iOS products and services for Compass's real estate platform.
- Collaborate with engineering, Product, and Design partners to deliver customer-focused projects.
- Define, decompose, and lead complex projects from planning through release, potentially coordinating other engineers.
- Guide architectural decisions and technical tradeoffs, and influence the product roadmap with engineering insights.
- Perform code reviews, design reviews, and write high-quality tests.
- Maintain strong standards for scalable, extensible, well-tested, and operationally rigorous systems.
- Implement appropriate monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and documentation for owned services.
- Identify and remove developer-experience bottlenecks and lead engineering initiatives that improve efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional iOS development experience building, architecting, and maintaining production applications shipped to the App Store.
- Deep expertise in modern Swift practices, including SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency.
- Strong understanding of scalable mobile architecture and the Apple deployment ecosystem.
- Experience leading projects from planning through release, assigning work, mentoring, and guiding junior engineers.
- Experience integrating with RESTful server-side services.
- Experience with AI tools and Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, iOS design-pattern knowledge, and attention to product and visual detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a passion for mentoring.
