Responsibilities
- Work with business development and sales teams to develop new exchange products and features.
- Design and build reliable, highly testable Python systems for Cboe Europe’s trading operations.
- Build and expand data pipeline and event-streaming functionality, trade reporting facilities, and other platforms.
- Lead complex projects, coordinating developers across multiple Cboe systems and international teams.
- Participate in research and development projects to evaluate and implement promising technologies.
- Mentor developers and lead debugging of complex engineering and operational problems.
- Provide production support through a rota, respond to incidents, and contribute to post-mortem analyses and follow-up actions.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Python.
- Commitment to writing testable and maintainable code.
- Proficiency with advanced SQL techniques.
- Deep knowledge of Linux.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with TDD, BDD, or other testing methodologies is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Django, Flask, FastAPI, Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, and Java is preferred.
- Experience in relevant financial areas such as market data, order management, algorithmic trading, financial systems integration, or compliance is preferred.
