Responsibilities
- Develop strategic and tactical applications and programs in Python for the Wholesale Lending business.
- Conduct feasibility studies, estimates, IT planning, risk technology, application development, and model development.
- Manage and monitor application development through analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
- Provide user and operational support and consult with business users, clients, and technology groups.
- Analyze complex application and business-process issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Develop post-implementation security measures and help establish operating standards and procedures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, advisor, or coach to senior stakeholders and lower-level analysts.
- Assess and escalate technology, compliance, and control risks appropriately.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Python development experience and 5–8 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on software engineering experience writing code for applications development.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the financial services industry is required.
- Understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with MongoDB and/or Oracle is preferred.
- Full-stack Python web development experience is preferred.
- Wholesale Lending or Markets Trading experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and the ability to write shell and batch programs.
- Ability to work with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools.
- Experience with Git and Bitbucket.
- Demonstrated applications-development subject matter expertise, problem-solving, decision-making, and ability to adjust priorities quickly.
