Base Salary

$144k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture decisions for fairness algorithms and resource allocation systems within the Nitro hypervisor.
  • Mentor junior engineers in low-level C/Rust programming and embedded development practices.
  • Conduct design and code reviews for performance-critical fairness mechanisms.
  • Implement resource-isolation and scheduling policies in embedded Nitro environments.
  • Analyze workload patterns to identify fairness violations and noisy-neighbor scenarios.
  • Design hardware-aware fairness algorithms using CPU cache locality, memory bandwidth, and network resources.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize packet-pipeline software and hardware offloads.
  • Develop real-time fairness monitoring and enforcement systems operating at microsecond latencies.
  • Implement dynamic resource allocation policies that adapt to changing workloads.
  • Design telemetry and observability systems to measure and validate fairness across multi-tenant environments.
  • Communicate technical designs and fairness requirements to senior management and product teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
  • Experience with embedded development in C/C++.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
