  • Build and maintain an offline-first React and TypeScript PWA with service workers, background sync, IndexedDB encryption, Redux Toolkit, Material UI, and Vite.
  • Develop Express and Node back-end services and contribute to migration from a monolith to domain-aligned AWS Lambda services.
  • Implement persistence and access-pattern models across MongoDB and DynamoDB, including single-table DynamoDB designs.
  • Develop integrations with DoD and enterprise systems using data transformation, delta/change-data-capture synchronization, and REST, SOAP, and SFTP protocols.
  • Design connectivity-aware data flows for online, intermittent, low-bandwidth, and disconnected environments.
  • Apply layered authentication, role-based authorization, resource-level access control, secure coding, and tamper-evident audit trails.
  • Use agentic AI coding tools to generate, refactor, migrate, review, and harden code for correctness, quality, and security.
  • Maintain automated, functional, regression, performance, and accessibility testing and participate in code reviews.
  • Create architecture decision records, API specifications, system documentation, and process and data-flow diagrams.
  • Lead feature-area design, establish coding standards, mentor mid-level developers, and own technical trade-off decisions.
  • Collaborate with delivery, architecture, DevSecOps, UX, cybersecurity, and mission-user teams within Agile/Scrum and Git-based CI/CD processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or an Associate's degree plus four years of experience may substitute under the stated equivalency rules.

  • At least three years of experience building on AWS serverless services.
  • Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Redux Toolkit, Material UI, Vite, Progressive Web Apps, service workers, Workbox, IndexedDB, background sync, MongoDB, Mongoose, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, API design, and incremental monolith-to-serverless migration patterns.
  • Experience integrating REST, SOAP, and SFTP systems and implementing authentication with CAC/mTLS, OIDC, JWT, OAuth2, API keys, and SSH keys.
  • Knowledge of secure coding, AES-256-GCM, FIPS 140-3, RBAC, audit logging, RMF, STIG, and NIST 800-53 expectations.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, GitHub Actions or GitLab, monorepos, Jest, Vitest, Playwright, supertest, Lighthouse, Docker, and Agile/Scrum.
  • Fluency with agentic AI coding tools and rigorous review and hardening of AI-generated code; Claude Code and Claude Opus are preferred, while GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or comparable tools are accepted.
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance is required at the start of work; an interim SECRET may be accepted for transition, with final SECRET required within 90 days.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, with no foreign-national or dual-citizenship accommodation.
  • Ability to meet applicable DoD 8570/8140 IAT or IAM certification baseline requirements for Information Assurance functions.
  • AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect Associate, DoD or federal modernization experience, DDIL experience, AWS GovCloud exposure, and experience with DoD systems are preferred.
  • Experience with MCP, RAG, large-language-model provider abstraction, multiple AI inference deployment models, AWS observability and infrastructure-as-code tools, k6, Storybook, and air-gapped environments is preferred.
