Responsibilities
- Lead moderately complex software engineering initiatives and deliverables within the technology domain.
- Design, develop, maintain, test, debug, document, upgrade, and deploy high-performance Java applications.
- Lead projects, technical design efforts, technology transformations, and application modernization initiatives.
- Review and resolve moderately complex technical challenges and act as an escalation point.
- Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve technical challenges and meet client needs.
- Provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff and lead teams toward delivery.
- Follow applicable risk, compliance, governance, monitoring, escalation, and remediation requirements.
- Work in the office according to the organization’s In Office Adherence / Return to Office policy.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Strong experience developing Java-based applications, including Java Web Application Development and multithreading.
- Experience with Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Hibernate, SQL, Oracle, and RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of Java 8 or later and familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with React, Angular, or JavaScript and exposure to Kafka or Redis for real-time data processing.
- Prime brokerage, capital markets, investment banking, equities, bonds, derivatives, front-office trading, trade capture, clearing, settlement, market connectivity, risk, margin, order flow, or reporting experience is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, communication, and leadership skills.
- Understanding of AI-driven software development is expected.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is desired.
