Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of scalable, distributed systems for a high-availability SaaS platform.
Build and evolve backend services and platform components using Java and cloud-native architectures.
Own and improve system reliability, performance, and scalability across AWS environments.
Define and implement infrastructure as code (Terraform) for consistent deployments.
Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions with engineering leadership.
Establish and enhance observability practices including monitoring and alerting.
Lead incident response and postmortems to improve long-term reliability.
Optimize and scale the Snowflake data platform for performance and cost efficiency.
Partner with data teams to support scalable data pipelines and analytics.
Improve CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows to enhance velocity and quality.
Mentor engineers to elevate engineering standards and best practices.

7+ years of experience building and operating production-grade software systems, ideally in SaaS environments.
Strong experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures.
Proficiency in Java and experience building backend services.
Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure automation (Terraform).
Experience owning systems in production, including performance and incident management.
Familiarity with data platforms (Snowflake or similar) and data-intensive systems.
Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and system design fundamentals.
Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or Prometheus.
Ability to influence technical direction and collaborate across teams.
