Responsibilities
- Build and operate Sonepar’s developer-centric Platform-as-a-Service with automation, reusable components, and self-service capabilities.
- Implement and maintain reliable, scalable, secure, and highly available platform components.
- Deploy, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud resources, with Azure preferred, and participate in incident response.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines while promoting automation, configuration, and release-management practices.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, capacity planning, and performance-tuning practices for platform reliability.
- Apply identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability management, security, and compliance controls.
- Onboard application services, improve developer experience, and provide technical guidance to internal platform users.
- Collaborate with platform leadership, architects, security teams, application teams, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based platforms or services.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of networking, cloud security, and microservices architectures.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and technical and non-technical stakeholders in an agile environment.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools is preferred.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor is preferred.
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments and understanding of cost optimization and FinOps practices are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and continuous-improvement skills.
