Responsibilities
- Own mission-critical distributed pricing services end to end, including technical design, API contracts, implementation, deployment, and ongoing operations.
- Analyze complex problems, break them into milestones, and collaboratively deliver sustainable technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical documentation, code reviews, framework and design-pattern recommendations, and code-quality improvements.
- Develop, test, maintain, and improve software applications using appropriate development tools and customer design requirements.
- Advocate for operational excellence through unit testing, service-level agreements, resiliency, scalability, monitoring, alerting, and quality metrics.
- Mentor team members and share technical knowledge across teams.
- Partner with business stakeholders to connect the technology stack to business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years of professional software development experience, or a master’s degree with 4+ years of post-degree experience.
- Hands-on software development experience with Java or similar object-oriented languages, or Scala, Kotlin, or similar functional languages.
- Experience building and operating scalable distributed systems and services in AWS cloud infrastructure or similar technologies.
- Experience formally mentoring at least three individuals and driving end-to-end technical design for at least three projects.
- Ability to identify project- and team-level business problems and design solutions that are testable and observable.
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data structures, API patterns, and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience establishing operational excellence metrics and advocating for testing, monitoring, alerting, and project quality.
- Practical experience developing robust distributed caching solutions with Redis, Couchbase, Memcached, or similar tools.
- Experience working on Agile development teams of at least five engineers, with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and technical excellence skills.
- Preferred: experience with low-latency, high-throughput processing and microservices handling 1M+ TPS.
- Preferred: experience safely integrating AI/ML-enabled solutions into backend systems and using AI-driven tools or workflows.
