Java Fullstack Developer, Assistant Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end full-stack features across Java backend services and modern web user interfaces.
- Build REST APIs, microservice-style services, service integrations, and centralized integration-hub or secure-gateway solutions.
- Develop responsive front-end experiences using React, Vue.js, or Angular.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, estimates, and incremental deliveries with cross-functional teams.
- Implement unit, integration, and UI/API testing, code reviews, and quality gates through CI/CD practices.
- Support operational readiness through logging, monitoring, performance tuning, production support, and reliability improvements.
- Ensure solutions meet regulated financial services expectations for security, least privilege, and auditability.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience delivering full-stack applications in financial services or similarly regulated environments, with ownership from UI through backend services.
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring modules including web, security, and data.
- Strong experience building RESTful APIs and microservice-style backend services, including documentation and integration patterns.
- Experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular and production user-interface development.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and ORM or data-access patterns.
- Experience with automated testing, code reviews, Agile team delivery, enterprise cloud and delivery tooling, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern microservice platforms.
- Experience working effectively with multi-location engineering teams.
- Working knowledge of digital asset concepts such as tokenization and custody is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Web3 or blockchain-adjacent concepts, smart contracts, or dApps integration is preferred.
- Exposure to high-scale data and integration patterns such as Kafka, MQ, API gateways, and event-driven architectures is preferred.
- Exposure to Node.js for front-end support or lightweight backend-for-frontend services is preferred.
