Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a scalable Stencil design system distributed as framework-agnostic Web Components.
  • Extend the design system to React and Angular consumers through wrappers and integration support.
  • Build semantic, accessible HTML and modular CSS with strong performance, keyboard navigation, focus management, and assistive-technology support.
  • Translate Figma designs into production-ready components and collaborate with designers, engineers, and platform teams.
  • Create documentation, coding standards, design tokens, and machine-readable usage guidance for people and AI coding tools.
  • Integrate components into CI/CD pipelines and support unit, visual regression, and accessibility testing.
  • Explore AI-assisted component generation, design-token mapping, automated documentation, and LLM context generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or design-related field, or work experience commensurate with education.
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Design Engineer or Design Technologist.
  • Experience building or contributing to design systems or UI libraries.
  • Strong experience with modern HTML, CSS architecture, vanilla JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Understanding of front-end architecture and enterprise-scale CSS strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of semantic HTML, WCAG, and ARIA accessibility standards.
  • Experience with progressive enhancement, performance optimization, and design tokens.
  • Hands-on experience or active experimentation with AI-enabled design systems, LLM context generation, or AI-driven UI workflows.
  • Preferred: experience with Web Components, React, Angular, Stencil, Jest, Playwright, visual regression tools, web design, or design tooling.
