Responsibilities
- Build and harden real-time control loops for coordinated joint motion.
- Own the hardware abstraction layer, ensuring seamless integration with various hardware.
- Design and evolve the robot API/SDK for long-term stability and clean versioning.
- Manage the messaging layer for low-latency, deterministic delivery.
- Implement diagnostics and health-monitoring hooks for fault detection and state reporting.
- Set technical direction for platform architecture and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years in systems/embedded/real-time software engineering.
- Deep fluency in C++ with a focus on real-time constraints.
- Hands-on experience with EtherCAT or equivalent deterministic networking.
- Proven track record in designing hardware abstraction layers and public-facing SDKs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field.
