Responsibilities
- Design and implement core runtime services supporting platform execution, analysis workflows, and operational stability.
- Build shared backend infrastructure components, including service frameworks, job execution layers, scheduling, and platform abstractions.
- Improve scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and performance for metadata ingestion and lineage computation services.
- Develop workload orchestration, lifecycle management, retry, fault-handling, and resource-optimization capabilities.
- Partner with DevOps and Cloud teams to deploy and manage runtime services in Kubernetes-based and enterprise environments.
- Build observability foundations including logging, metrics, tracing, and troubleshooting tools.
- Support enterprise requirements involving isolation, security, compliance, and predictable operations.
- Contribute to architecture, implementation, code reviews, and scalable backend engineering practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend or platform engineering experience with demonstrated Staff-level impact.
- Strong experience building scalable backend infrastructure, runtime systems, or distributed service platforms.
- Excellent programming skills in C#/.NET and Java.
- Experience designing shared services for orchestration, execution pipelines, or platform-level abstractions.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and ArangoDB.
- Familiarity with messaging, caching, and coordination systems such as Kafka and Redis.
- Experience operating containerized services and supporting Kubernetes-based deployments.
- Strong understanding of production reliability, fault tolerance, observability, and operational practices.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, product, DevOps, and Cloud teams.
- Preferred: experience with workflow engines, distributed job execution, large-scale runtime platforms, hybrid SaaS and on-premise deployments, metadata-heavy or graph-based workload optimization, search/index infrastructure such as ElasticSearch or Solr, and enterprise compliance or security constraints.
