Base Salary
$120k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Establish and evolve technical standards and architectural approaches for modern enterprise websites, CMS platforms, frontend frameworks, integrations, hosting, infrastructure, data, search, analytics, and related systems.
- Serve as senior technical authority for high-value or technically complex client engagements, advising on architecture, feasibility, risk, performance, launch readiness, and implementation plans.
- Create reusable architectural patterns, shared packages, starter frameworks, generators, internal tools, playbooks, and reference implementations.
- Raise standards for code quality, modularity, maintainability, performance, accessibility, testing, documentation, code review, security, and technical debt management.
- Shape technical scope, estimates, risks, dependencies, assumptions, proposals, statements of work, change orders, and handoffs from sales to delivery.
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders through architecture reviews, pairing, code reviews, technical guidance, and reusable engineering practices.
- Evaluate emerging frameworks, platforms, developer tooling, AI capabilities, automation, and engineering practices, establishing where Webstacks should adopt, experiment, or standardize.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to improve delivery systems, reduce technical friction and rework, and align technical quality with scope, schedule, staffing, margin, and client expectations.
Requirements
- Deep experience with modern web architecture and the ability to establish pragmatic technical direction for complex enterprise engagements.
- Strong judgment across architecture, code structure, maintainability, performance, accessibility, testing, documentation, security, and developer experience.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business, strategic, and creative requirements into technical approaches that engineering teams can execute.
- Client credibility and executive communication skills, including the ability to explain architectural decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and delivery expectations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness of how technical decisions affect scope, timelines, staffing, risk, margin, and client expectations.
- Experience identifying recurring problems and converting them into standards, reusable architecture, tooling, shared libraries, and improved ways of working.
- Ability to mentor senior and mid-level engineers and develop technical leaders without becoming a bottleneck for routine decisions.
- Comfort working close to implementation when needed while creating leverage across teams and engagements.
- Ability to collaborate across Engineering, Strategy, Design, Program Management, Operations, Growth, and Account Leadership and influence without direct authority.
- Interest in AI-assisted engineering, automation, emerging technologies, and developer tooling, with judgment about their practical value.
