Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate production AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions using AWS services.
- Build Amazon Bedrock applications using prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, intelligent agents, and workflow automation.
- Design secure RAG pipelines covering ingestion, chunking, embeddings, indexing, retrieval, grounding, evaluation, and governance.
- Engineer agentic solutions with controlled tool access, orchestration, state and memory, authorization, error handling, human approval points, and auditable execution.
- Build serverless and containerized services using AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, AWS Step Functions, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EKS.
- Implement data and persistence patterns using Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, and AWS Glue.
- Apply AWS security, governance, encryption, secrets-management, private-connectivity, data-protection, and model-guardrail controls.
- Implement automated evaluation, testing, monitoring, tracing, reliability, safety, latency, and cost controls for AI applications.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, contribute reusable components and quality gates, and maintain technical design artifacts and operational runbooks.
- Provide post-production support, troubleshoot issues, optimize performance and cost, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years building and operating solutions on AWS.
- Hands-on experience delivering AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions in production.
- Strong Python skills and experience designing, testing, and integrating RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock, AWS application services, RAG solutions, vector databases or vector-search services, and AI agents or tool-using workflows.
- Working knowledge of AWS IAM, AWS KMS, secrets management, logging, monitoring, tracing, and incident support.
- Experience with Git-based development, automated testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with Docker and at least one of Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Bedrock Knowledge Bases, Bedrock Guardrails, Agents for Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, SageMaker, Amazon OpenSearch Service, PostgreSQL with pgvector, AWS Glue, data pipelines, PySpark, React, an AWS certification, and Amazon QuickSight.
- Must obtain Reliability Status Clearance and satisfactorily complete required law-enforcement, credit, background, and related government checks.
