Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute large, cross-functional initiatives, including project definition, technical specification, task breakdown, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Design, build, launch, code, and maintain complex backend systems for fraud decisioning.
  • Write high-quality, understandable, and reusable code that anticipates failure scenarios and is easy to deploy and debug.
  • Review engineering work and provide constructive feedback to maintain consistent quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, provide context, and help team members take ownership of their work.
  • Collaborate with Product, ML, Analytics, Business, and other cross-functional stakeholders to align requirements and initiatives.
  • Conduct technical and soft-skill evaluations and develop or review interview content and requirements.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities and experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Prior experience architecting, building, launching, coding, and maintaining complex systems.
  • Experience working with cross-functional Product, ML, Analytics, and Business teams.
  • Strong technical leadership and team-building abilities, including mentoring in software development best practices.
  • Expertise synthesizing complex business, product, and technical requirements into high-quality system designs and software.
  • System architecture experience, including decomposing business and product requirements into system modules or components.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
