$180k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop interoperability services connecting on-premise hospital EHR systems with Heartflow’s AWS cloud environment.
- Implement data modeling and persistence strategies for complex clinical data within a unified heart-disease management platform.
- Build and maintain scalable, secure data acquisition and ingestion pipelines that extract and normalize patient data from hospital networks.
- Build reliable, secure, low-maintenance APIs using REST, FHIR, and HL7 to connect hospital components with cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure data flows and system integrations comply with FDA and other applicable regulatory standards and guidance.
- Contribute to architecture and system design decisions, own significant components, and mentor more junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong Python development proficiency and experience with Domain-Driven Design, microservices, and event-driven architectures at scale.
- Experience integrating Electronic Health Record systems and using FHIR and HL7 healthcare data standards.
- Experience with data modeling, scalable persistence layers, cloud ecosystems, and secure RESTful APIs.
- Experience mentoring engineers, contributing to system design, and establishing software development and testing best practices.
- Experience designing testable systems and leading unit, functional, and system-level testing strategies.
