Responsibilities
- Design and develop core platform services using Procore’s platform technologies and service-oriented architecture.
- Build application platform features that support customization and extensibility for users, third-party developers, and internal application teams.
- Design and implement scalable APIs and asynchronous streaming solutions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and UX teams on roadmaps, technical initiatives, and customer-focused solutions.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Drive technical strategy and serve as a subject matter expert for major technology initiatives.
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, training, and team-level strategic leadership.
- Use generative AI tools and build agentic workflows for construction technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable work experience.
- 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming fundamentals, test-driven development, and design principles.
- Strong experience designing and building highly scalable and performant software in a service-oriented architecture.
- Proficiency implementing APIs and asynchronous streaming platforms.
- Experience with Java, Kafka, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and Node.js.
- Experience across modern web development, testing, staging, deployment, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with Datadog, New Relic, Sumo Logic, and OpenTelemetry telemetry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate technical problems, design solutions, and provide clarity for complex initiatives.
- Curiosity, innovation, and a focus on solving customer problems.
