Responsibilities
- Lead complex, large-scale technology initiatives and establish engineering standards and best practices.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review complex software solutions.
- Architect and build the Valence (CIBX) agentic platform for business-user configuration and deployment of AI agents.
- Develop deep agents with multi-step planning, tool use, memory, and autonomous task execution.
- Build and optimize RAG pipelines grounded in enterprise knowledge bases and documents.
- Integrate generative AI and LLM capabilities into scalable backend services.
- Design orchestration layers for routing, planning, task execution, and aggregation across specialized agents.
- Implement MCP or similar tool-calling protocols for connecting agents to enterprise systems and APIs.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, observability, logging, monitoring, and tracing for production agentic workloads.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver agent-driven automation solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in agentic system design, prompt engineering, and AI safety guardrails.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and platform deployment strategy.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Five to ten or more years of overall software engineering experience with strong hands-on Python expertise.
- Production experience building AI or generative AI applications.
- Hands-on experience with RAG architectures, including embeddings, vector databases, chunking strategies, and retrieval optimization.
- Experience building agentic AI systems with multi-agent orchestration, planning, tool calling, and memory management.
- Experience designing low-code or configuration-driven frameworks for non-technical users.
- Understanding of LLM integration patterns, prompt engineering, function or tool calling, and streaming responses via SSE or WebSockets.
- Strong API design experience with FastAPI or Flask and asynchronous programming with asyncio.
- Experience with structured logging, observability, resilience patterns, circuit breakers, and retries in distributed systems.
- Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes for container orchestration and platform deployment.
- Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases for state or checkpoint management.
- Exposure to enterprise authentication and authorization patterns including AD, SSO, and RBAC.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins and code quality tools such as SonarQube.
- Prior financial services or capital markets experience and familiarity with MCP or similar tool-integration standards are desired.
- Ability to solve complex problems, work in an evolving AI product environment, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor engineers.
