Responsibilities
- Architect, design, build, and operate high-performance distributed systems and platform components.
- Develop scalable distributed-system data-ingestion solutions and fault-tolerant ingestion and transformation workflows.
- Deliver modular, reusable, maintainable code and build foundational libraries, frameworks, and platform tools.
- Lead complex technical initiatives, define engineering best practices, and collaborate across engineering teams on end-to-end solutions.
- Research and adopt technologies that improve platform capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex production issues across distributed systems.
Requirements
- 15–20 years of hands-on engineering experience in distributed systems, data platforms, or large-scale backend infrastructure.
- Deep Java expertise, including JVM internals, memory models, garbage collection, performance tuning, profiling, and bottleneck diagnosis.
- Strong knowledge of distributed-systems architecture, design patterns, algorithms, concurrency, networking, sockets, operating-system internals, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, including replication, fault tolerance, and high-availability strategies.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in DevOps environments and designing platforms using Kubernetes.
- Apache Iceberg, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Apache Spark experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Parquet, ORC, and Avro data formats, compaction, governance, Data Lakes, analytics engines, query services, or ML platforms.
