Responsibilities
- Define architecture, engineering best practices, design reviews, and technology decisions for complex platform problems.
- Lead modernization and development of scalable, secure Java/Spring Boot microservices.
- Own the architecture and evolution of core platform infrastructure, including resilience, component communication, and scalability.
- Drive security, compliance, observability, and platform reliability across engineering systems.
- Facilitate collaboration with Product, QA, and engineering teams to support end-to-end product delivery.
- Research and apply AI/ML concepts to enhance Managed File Transfer and Workload Automation capabilities.
- Lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering peers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience focused significantly on high-scale products and platforms.
- Strong Java and Spring Boot skills, with knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and architecture principles.
- Extensive experience architecting, deploying, and managing complex solutions on a major cloud platform, preferably AWS.
- Expertise building distributed SaaS systems, microservices, APIs, Kubernetes-based systems, and cloud platforms.
- Practical or conceptual understanding of applying AI/ML techniques to engineering problems.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, infrastructure as code such as Terraform, and automated platform management.
- Mastery of Kubernetes container orchestration, specifically Amazon EKS, including cluster operations and inter-component communication.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise file-transfer protocols including SFTP, FTPS, and AS2, plus secure communication protocols.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineering peers, solve problems, and collaborate effectively.
- Knowledge of Scrum and Kanban development methodologies.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise application integration, preferably with SAP.
