Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure for protein engineering campaigns.
- Develop secure data pipelines with a focus on access control and compliance.
- Own core components of Profluent’s data warehouse and platform using Python and GCP.
- Transform raw data into structured, analysis-ready datasets.
- Establish best practices for data modeling and quality checks.
- Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to understand data requirements.
- Improve engineering quality through system design and testing.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for data storage and security.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering or data platform experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern software development practices.
- Experience designing and operating production data pipelines and warehouses.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
- Strong understanding of data security and access control.
- Experience with complex datasets and building reliable systems.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects to production.
- BS, MS, or PhD in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
