Base Salary

$149k - $224k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate Python-based playbooks, actions, integrations, and agents on the Luna platform for GovCloud CSIRT workflows.
  • Partner with GSOC CSIRT analysts and incident responders to translate operational tradecraft into trustworthy, auditable automation.
  • Extend LLM-backed actions, tool use, decision agents, and MCP integrations into an isolated, regulated GovCloud environment.
  • Use AI-assisted software development tools, prompt engineering, and shared system context to ship secure, reliable, production-grade software.
  • Own systems end to end, including scoping, design, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, business-hour on-call support, and post-incident hardening.
  • Perform code reviews, evaluate human- and AI-generated code, improve engineering practices, and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong record of shipping production Python.
  • Hands-on experience building automation, integrations, or backend services that interact with multiple third-party APIs.
  • Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor in engineering workflows.
  • Advanced prompt engineering skills, including writing precise structured prompts and maintaining reliable system context.
  • Experience reviewing AI-generated code and orchestrating AI tools across multi-step engineering tasks.
  • Strong fundamentals in clean code, API design, testing, version control, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
  • Production experience building LLM-backed agents, tool or function calling, MCP servers, retrieval-augmented systems, or evaluation harnesses for nondeterministic systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical security stakeholders.
  • Preferred: experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, SOAR platforms, regulated cloud deployments, SOC or CSIRT teams, detection engineering, incident response, threat hunting, authentication and authorization, secure transport, or identity management.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, born or naturalized in the United States, without dual citizenship, and able to complete a U.S. federal Minimum Background Investigation for a Moderate Public Trust position.
