Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal engineers and the open source community on feature and bug fix requests.
- Engage with industry partners and standards bodies to advance open source projects.
- Deliver a mission-focused end-user experience through case studies, blogs, or presentations.
- Identify and resolve ambiguity in product requirements proactively.
- Integrate software products with existing defense systems for seamless interoperability.
- Own architecture decisions and ensure technical quality across the engineering team.
- Develop comprehensive documentation including design specifications and user manuals.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to inform product enhancements.
- Provide technical mentorship and elevate engineering standards.
- Influence product direction through understanding user needs and system constraints.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Experience building software tools focused on software lifecycle and management.
- Proficient in Go, with knowledge of other modern programming languages a plus.
- Strong understanding of system design, library and software APIs, and cloud architecture.
- Experience contributing to Open Source Projects, especially with CNCF, ASF, or OpenSSF.
- Familiarity with Core Kubernetes Concepts including Controllers, Operators, and CRDs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for conveying technical concepts.
