Base Salary
$149k - $201k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal engineers and open source contributors on feature and bug fix requests
- Engage with the open source community, industry partners, and standards bodies through platforms such as Slack and GitHub
- Deliver mission-focused end-user experiences and collaborate with users on case studies, blogs, and conference presentations
- Resolve ambiguity in product requirements and influence product direction based on user needs and system constraints
- Integrate software products with existing defense systems while meeting interoperability and security requirements
- Lead architecture decisions and maintain technical quality across the engineering team
- Develop design specifications, user manuals, maintenance guides, and other documentation
- Track emerging technologies and industry trends to inform product enhancements
- Provide technical mentorship and improve engineering standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building software tools focused on software lifecycle and management
- Proficiency in Go; experience with other modern programming languages is a plus
- Strong understanding of system design, software libraries and APIs, and cloud architecture, including AWS or Azure
- Experience contributing to open source projects
- Familiarity with core Kubernetes concepts, including Controllers, Operators, and CRDs
- Participation in CNCF, ASF, or OpenSSF projects is a strong plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical audiences
