Senior Product Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship applications from concept through public launch across frontend, backend, mobile, or data-pipeline components.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate products while balancing scope, quality, timing, and reliability.
- Integrate government data sources, including modern APIs, flat-file feeds, open-data portals, and legacy systems.
- Collaborate with product, design, engineering, policy, legal, agency, and user-research stakeholders on product decisions and prioritization.
- Coordinate hosting, performance testing, accessibility audits, and security reviews.
- Translate eligibility rules and regulations into clear and accurate product logic.
- Write technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture notes.
- Develop reusable patterns, components, and infrastructure and contribute to code review, mentorship, and onboarding.
- Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or a related field plus six years of related full-time experience; or a baccalaureate degree plus ten years of related full-time experience; or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Related experience may include enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture, or IT infrastructure systems.
- Ability to work hands-on across the stack and collaborate with multidisciplinary public-sector stakeholders.
- Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and nights/evenings, as required by 24/7 technical operations.
