Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and architecture of the iOS application from foundational systems through feature delivery at scale.
- Lead iOS engineers through code reviews, architecture decisions, technical trade-offs, coaching, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Android engineers on shared product behavior, cross-platform architecture, performance, and product consistency.
- Represent iOS in cross-functional discussions with Backend, QA, Design, and Product.
- Establish standards for the iOS codebase, tooling, testing, engineering practices, and delivery workflows.
- Remain hands-on by writing code, shipping features, reviewing changes, and staying close to the codebase.
- Explore and drive AI integration opportunities that improve the iOS user experience.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on expertise with Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit, Xcode, and the App Store lifecycle.
- Proven experience building and scaling high-traffic B2C consumer applications serving millions of active users.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture decisions, engineer guidance, and serving as a team reference point.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Android engineers and understand shared mobile constraints such as performance, architecture, and product parity.
- Experience working in startup or scale-up environments with rapid iteration, ambiguity, and aggressive growth targets.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Android, Backend, QA, Design, and Product.
- Strong communication and influence skills, including the ability to align people without formal authority.
- Fluency in English is required; French fluency is a plus.
- Prior formal or informal engineering management or technical lead experience is preferred.
- Experience with streaming video, media frameworks, real-time content delivery, AI/ML integration in mobile applications, A/B testing frameworks, conversion optimization, or mobile engineering communities is preferred.
