Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production-scale Flink-based real-time streaming pipelines.
- Own data quality and observability infrastructure, including schema contracts, freshness monitoring, ownership registries, and alerting systems.
- Build and evolve knowledge base tooling for agents and engineers.
- Design systems that preserve data integrity and recover reliably from failures.
- Drive architecture while remaining hands-on in execution and collaborate with teams served by the internal data platform.
Requirements
- Require 7+ years of production backend or data infrastructure experience.
- Require deep experience with production-scale stream processing systems such as Flink, Kafka, or equivalents, including failure modes, recovery, and operational burden.
- Require strong distributed systems judgment focused on correctness and reliability.
- Require experience with data quality or observability infrastructure.
- Require strong teamwork, communication, and ability to explain complex systems and facilitate collaborative solutions.
- Preferred experience includes data contracts, schema registries, data governance tooling, JVM languages such as Scala, Java, or Kotlin, and big-data databases such as Aerospike or Elasticsearch.
- Preferred experience includes agentic or LLM-adjacent infrastructure and serving as a technical anchor on a small, high-scope team.
