Responsibilities
- Implement business logic for Abound’s core lending product and new products.
- Create internal and customer-facing endpoints with FastAPI.
- Integrate external APIs to improve credit decisioning and payment processing.
- Use Postgres or MySQL databases to handle customer data safely and efficiently.
- Participate in rapid product development cycles and assess the customer and commercial impact of technical changes.
- Rotate through backend-focused teams and collaborate cross-functionally with data science, risk, compliance, underwriting, and product teams.
- Ship production code from the first week and participate in mentorship, technical reviews, and career progression planning.
Requirements
- Be a recent or soon-to-be graduate with a degree in a technical or quantitative STEM field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Have proficiency in Python or similar programming languages, or a strong understanding of computer science with eagerness to learn Python-based technologies.
- Have a genuine interest in financial technology and using AI to solve real-world problems.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Be comfortable learning by doing, taking ownership, and working with autonomy.
