Responsibilities
- Design and develop NLP and machine learning applications on Google Cloud and enterprise data platforms.
- Apply NLP techniques for text representation, semantic extraction, modeling, and natural language understanding.
- Transform data science prototypes into scalable solutions and extend machine learning libraries and frameworks for NLP use cases.
- Select datasets, supervised learning methods, algorithms, and tools for specific NLP tasks.
- Integrate machine learning solutions with enterprise data platforms and source systems through APIs and other integration patterns.
- Train, evaluate, and refine machine learning models using statistical analysis and experimentation.
- Partner with clinical, business, data science, and data engineering stakeholders to define questions and communicate findings.
- Evaluate proof-of-concept solutions based on cost, scalability, long-term functionality, standards, policies, and technology roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing across machine learning, NLP, cloud, data, and API solution design.
- Document solution approaches, technical decisions, model considerations, and implementation practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required.
- 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, NLP/ML Engineer, or similar professional, equivalent to 96 months.
- Advanced experience designing and developing machine learning and NLP solutions in cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of NLP techniques, text representation, semantic extraction, statistics, and classification algorithms.
- Expertise in Python, SQL, machine learning frameworks and APIs, Google Cloud data and ML technologies, Vertex AI, large language models, and Document AI.
- Experience integrating data platforms and source systems through APIs and training, evaluating, and refining machine learning models.
- Ability to evaluate technical solutions across cost, scalability, long-term functionality, standards, and business value.
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience in healthcare information technology, large language models, generative AI, advanced NLP, and clinical, coding, or revenue cycle data and workflows.
- Master's degree preferred.
