Base Salary

$179k - $269k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop system architectures, requirements, and verification plans for perception functions.
  • Contribute to software architecture and requirements.
  • Define use cases and bounding scenarios that establish perception capability limits.
  • Design and build metrics and tooling to verify and test perception software and hardware.
  • Serve as a cross-functional expert in software, algorithms, and hardware for perception functions.
  • Apply statistical analysis to estimate system- and function-level performance.
  • Analyze and root-cause on-car results to identify data-driven performance improvements.
  • Work with testing and triage teams to implement in-car tests.
  • Collaborate with analytics, data science, and cloud-computing teams to implement metrics at scale.
  • Prototype perception-analysis tools in Python or C++.
  • Perform data-driven trade studies across hardware and software alternatives.
  • Promote a healthy, diverse, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach others in the area of expertise.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert across perception functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD.
  • Proven record of delivering high-priority assignments efficiently.
  • Professional experience in an environment emphasizing safety, honesty, procedure, and/or software testing.
  • Strong desire to learn new technology and software skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset focused on safety and procedure.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel to remote offices and test facilities as needed.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required.
