Base Salary
$179k - $269k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop system architectures, requirements, and verification plans for perception functions.
- Contribute to software architecture and requirements.
- Define use cases and bounding scenarios that establish perception capability limits.
- Design and build metrics and tooling to verify and test perception software and hardware.
- Serve as a cross-functional expert in software, algorithms, and hardware for perception functions.
- Apply statistical analysis to estimate system- and function-level performance.
- Analyze and root-cause on-car results to identify data-driven performance improvements.
- Work with testing and triage teams to implement in-car tests.
- Collaborate with analytics, data science, and cloud-computing teams to implement metrics at scale.
- Prototype perception-analysis tools in Python or C++.
- Perform data-driven trade studies across hardware and software alternatives.
- Promote a healthy, diverse, and safety-focused work environment.
- Develop, mentor, and coach others in the area of expertise.
- Act as a subject-matter expert across perception functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD.
- Proven record of delivering high-priority assignments efficiently.
- Professional experience in an environment emphasizing safety, honesty, procedure, and/or software testing.
- Strong desire to learn new technology and software skills.
- Excellent written communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset focused on safety and procedure.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel to remote offices and test facilities as needed.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required.
