Base Salary

$112k - $170k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and integrate software for robotic systems across perception, control, autonomy, state estimation, and system infrastructure.
  • Understand robotic system requirements and participate in software and system design reviews.
  • Implement robotic software components according to coding standards and write unit tests.
  • Debug and validate software under defined development and lifecycle processes.
  • Work with software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and test teams to integrate software across robotic platforms.
  • Support reuse of robotic software components across programs and products.
  • Contribute to process improvement for robotic software development, testing, and deployment.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
  • Deliver work according to agreed completion dates, project schedules, and budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in Linux application software development.
  • Significant C++ and object-oriented design experience.
  • Experience writing unit tests, debugging code, and using source control systems such as Git or SVN.
  • Ability to contribute to core implementation and design tradeoffs for complex system-level robotics problems.
  • Demonstrated mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Preferred advanced degree.
  • Experience with RTI or other DDS-based middleware.
  • Experience with underwater robotic systems and multiple robotics domains such as autonomy, perception, controls, or system integration.
  • Experience developing, testing, or deploying software on real robotic hardware.
  • Experience establishing CI/CD infrastructure and working with formal software lifecycle processes.
  • Applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR requirements or be eligible for approval of an export license; some positions require current U.S. citizenship.
