Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support mission-critical cloud platform components for connected vehicle capabilities.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of software services and supporting platform infrastructure.
  • Act as a domain owner for critical services, identifying risks, leading root-cause analysis, and driving reliability, observability, and performance improvements.
  • Design and operate large-scale distributed microservices and cloud-native platforms.
  • Provide architectural guidance, lead design reviews, define engineering standards, and influence technical direction.
  • Lead benchmarking, capacity planning, load testing, monitoring, tracing, logging, alerting, incident response, and service-health initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, operations, and cross-platform teams on technical execution and business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade distributed microservices.
  • 8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming architectures.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS, with openness or exposure to GCP.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing APIs using REST, gRPC, JSON, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Concourse, and GitHub.
  • 3+ years of operational experience with monitoring, telemetry, and incident response tools, including primary and secondary on-call rotations.
  • Preferred qualifications include GCP or AWS-to-GCP migration experience, Tyk API Gateway experience, telemetry and metrics platform experience, and automotive, connected vehicle, telematics, or high-criticality IoT streaming experience.
  • Candidates in the Pacific Time Zone or Texas/Central region are preferred.
