Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support mission-critical cloud platform components for connected vehicle capabilities.
- Own end-to-end delivery of distributed software services and supporting platform infrastructure.
- Act as a domain owner for critical services, identifying risks, leading root-cause analysis, and improving reliability, observability, and performance.
- Provide architectural guidance for scalable, resilient, secure distributed systems and influence engineering standards.
- Build and operate large-scale microservices and cloud-native platforms using Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes/EKS, Kafka, PostgreSQL, gRPC, REST, and AWS.
- Lead performance benchmarking, capacity planning, load testing, quality standards, and API scalability efforts.
- Own monitoring, tracing, logging, metrics, alerting, incident response, operational readiness, and SLA adherence.
- Drive platform modernization, architectural improvements, technical roadmaps, design reviews, and best practices.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, operations, and cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade distributed microservices.
- 8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
- 5+ years of experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming architectures.
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, primarily AWS, with openness to GCP.
- 3+ years of experience with API design and development using REST, gRPC, JSON, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
- 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Concourse, and GitHub.
- 3+ years of operational experience with monitoring, telemetry, and incident response tools, including primary and secondary on-call rotations.
- Preferred experience includes GCP or AWS-to-GCP migrations, Tyk API Gateways, telemetry and metrics platforms, and automotive, connected vehicle, telematics, or high-criticality IoT streaming.
- Pacific Time Zone or Texas/Central region location is preferred.
