Responsibilities
- Produce functional and technical designs for Core Investment Management and the RIO application.
- Design, develop, enhance, test, implement, and support COBOL, JCL, IMS DB/DC, DB2, VSAM, datasets, copybooks, utilities, and batch processes.
- Analyze job flows, data dependencies, interfaces, batch failures, job output, datasets, and cross-application impacts.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, defect investigation, release-readiness activities, and solution sign-offs.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, job abends, data issues, and service interruptions, including impact and root-cause analysis.
- Participate in change governance, implementation and rollback planning, production validation, incident management, problem management, and on-call support.
- Support application stewardship, vulnerability remediation, access controls, audit and SOX evidence, data retention, disaster recovery, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, job-flow diagrams, interface inventories, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Collaborate with developers, quality engineers, business systems analysts, product partners, architecture, operations, risk, support teams, and vendors.
- Advance Git and Endevor-based mainframe development, including repository onboarding, source synchronization, compilation, automated quality checks, and security scanning.
- Use and validate GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted output in accordance with coding, testing, security, and change-management standards.
- Contribute to modernization, automation, technical-debt reduction, reusable engineering patterns, and developer-experience improvements.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 6 years of mainframe application design, development, implementation, and production-support experience.
- Working experience with mainframe technologies and complex batch-oriented applications.
- Required experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, TSO, ISPF, IMS DC/DB, and/or DB2.
- Experience with Endevor or comparable mainframe source-control and deployment tools such as SCM or Changeman.
- Experience with job scheduling tools such as CA-7, Autosys, AWF, or comparable workload-automation tools.
- Experience with secure coding, code review, unit and integration testing, change management, incident management, and production support.
- Experience with application analysis, batch failures, interfaces, cross-application impacts, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Agile delivery experience and familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
- Preferred experience with Git, GitHub, pull-request workflows, CI/CD, DevSecOps, Endevor Bridge for Git, Explorer for Endevor, VS Code, and Code4z/Zowe.
- Preferred experience using GitHub Copilot for legacy-code analysis, documentation, test generation, defect analysis, or refactoring.
- Preferred exposure to SonarQube, Veracode, IBM MQ, SAS on z/OS, ACF2, secure file transfer, mailbox integrations, registered investment products, banking, audit/SOX evidence, technology risk, resiliency, data retention, and disaster recovery.
