Responsibilities
- Lead complex, large-scale technology initiatives and establish engineering standards and best practices.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review complex software solutions.
- Architect and build the Valence (CIBX) agentic platform for business-user configuration, deployment, and management of AI agents.
- Develop deep agents supporting multi-step planning, tool use, memory, and autonomous task execution.
- Build and optimize RAG pipelines grounded in enterprise knowledge bases and documents.
- Integrate generative AI and LLM capabilities into scalable backend services.
- Design orchestration layers for routing, planning, task execution, and result aggregation across specialized agents.
- Implement MCP or similar tool-calling protocols to connect agents with enterprise systems and APIs.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, observability, logging, monitoring, and tracing for production workloads.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver agent-driven automation solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in agentic system design, prompt engineering, and AI safety guardrails.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and platform deployment strategy.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Strong hands-on Python expertise and 5–10+ years of overall software engineering experience preferred.
- Production experience building AI or generative AI applications.
- Hands-on experience with RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, chunking strategies, and retrieval optimization.
- Experience building agentic AI systems with multi-agent orchestration, planning, tool calling, and memory management.
- Experience designing low-code or configuration-driven frameworks for non-technical users.
- Understanding of LLM integration patterns, prompt engineering, function/tool calling, and streaming responses.
- Strong API design skills using FastAPI or Flask and experience with asynchronous programming.
- Experience with structured logging, observability, resilience patterns, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with OpenShift or Kubernetes, MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, enterprise authentication and authorization, CI/CD tooling, and code quality tools is preferred.
- Prior financial services or capital markets experience and familiarity with MCP are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, mentoring, and communication skills.
