Base Salary
$193k - $297k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own GPU fleet operations, capacity, scheduling, diagnostics, and support across AWS.
- Build the GPU scheduling layer from zero and diagnose GPU and node failures.
- Drive hardware evidence and replacement through AWS support and capacity-block channels.
- Operate researcher support through office hours, support channels, self-service tooling, preflight checks, and documentation.
- Instrument the fleet with utilization, queue depth, job success rate, and cost-per-experiment metrics.
- Partner with external compute and lab providers and EA’s central infrastructure teams on shared services and escalations.
- Author runbooks, decision records, and onboarding documentation.
- Lead infrastructure-as-code setup, permissions, and infrastructure debugging.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience operating production infrastructure.
- Deep, current, hands-on AWS experience with EC2 GPU fleets, EKS, IAM, cross-account security, VPC, networking, S3, and FSx.
- Experience scheduling, diagnosing, and managing GPUs specifically in AWS and operating GPU fleets at 1,000+ GPU scale.
- Expertise in scripting and automation with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent.
- Expertise with infrastructure as code using Terraform or an equivalent tool.
- Familiarity with GPU scheduling or orchestration layers such as Slurm, Kubernetes with Kueue or Volcano, Ray, dStack, or SkyPilot.
- Observability experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or an equivalent tool.
