Responsibilities
- Lead complex solution design activities and translate business requirements into scalable system and application designs aligned with CIBC’s technology roadmap.
- Design and document technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces, integrations, and enterprise-scale solutions.
- Contribute to technology strategy and roadmaps and develop innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency and platform consistency.
- Guide teams in adopting modern technologies and engineering practices, including thoughtful use of artificial intelligence.
- Facilitate design review sessions, collaborate with stakeholders across teams, and ensure solutions align with business and architectural requirements.
- Mentor junior designers and developers through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and practical problem-solving.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing large-scale enterprise applications, ideally with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and JavaScript.
- Strong architecture and integration expertise, including hands-on experience with microservices architecture, cloud-native design, integration patterns, and OAuth.
- Experience with J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, SOAP web services, JSON, RESTful services, event messaging, and API gateways.
- Working knowledge of GitHub, Microsoft Azure, Docker, cloud development, security principles, and DevOps.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure, Red Hat OpenShift, or equivalent cloud platforms is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft desktop environment is a plus.
- Strong technical assessment, solution development, stakeholder collaboration, leadership, coaching, and communication capabilities.
