Lead Software Engineer - Java/Python Backend

- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, high-quality production software solutions.
- Review and debug code written by other engineers and improve application operational stability.
- Lead adoption and validation standards for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting tools.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools and automation capabilities to improve delivery outcomes.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring application and system issues.
- Lead technical evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architecture and technology applicability.
Requirements
- Formal software engineering training or certification and 10+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in Java or Python.
- Experience leading responsible use of AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Proficiency across the software development lifecycle and advanced understanding of application resiliency and security practices.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
- Preferred experience with AWS and platform engineering.
