Base Salary

$157k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and optimize ETL data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
  • Architect and implement data lake and data warehouse solutions using AWS services.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders on data engineering, software engineering, and resilient cloud architecture.
  • Improve observability, orchestration, resiliency, developer experience, automation, and operational stability across application platforms.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune data pipelines and cloud resources for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor engineers by providing technical guidance and conducting code reviews.
  • Promote reusable data pipelines and operational simplicity through observability standards.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least five years of applied experience.
  • At least five years of hands-on professional programming experience, including Java or Python for data engineering tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, job orchestration, and AWS data services including EMR, Athena, Glue, and S3.
  • Experience developing and optimizing large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines and using Spark libraries for machine learning and data transformation.
  • Experience using AI tools for developer productivity, including SDD, Agentic AI, Skills, Copilot, or Claude Code.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Proficiency across the software development life cycle and familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code tools in cloud environments.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring software engineers.
  • Preferred experience delivering enterprise investment banking applications for market surveillance, front-office trading systems, or analytics systems.
  • Preferred familiarity with Spring Boot microservices, RESTful API development, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka streaming, and financial products and trade workflows.
