Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate extensible, reliable, and usable production systems.
- Write and review code regularly while setting and elevating engineering standards.
- Build high-quality end-to-end product experiences centered on user needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and partner with engineering management, product management, and company leaders.
- Create and drive the team’s longer-term technical vision.
- Unblock execution across short-term and long-term roadmaps while balancing business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Teach and mentor engineers and help develop future technical leaders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional backend or full-stack development experience, including actively writing and reviewing code.
- Experience setting and executing long-term technical strategy for a large product area.
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements and stakeholders while iteratively shipping product features.
- Proven technical leadership and meaningful contributions to the growth of other engineers.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- User empathy and a customer-centric approach to problem solving and product development.
- Preferred experience with full-stack development using React and Ruby.
- Willingness to learn and grow continuously while shipping impactful work.
