
Senior Software Engineer – Real-Time Data Platform
MorningstarResponsibilities
- Design and build scalable, real-time data processing systems using Apache Flink and Kafka.
- Develop maintainable Apache Flink data processing code in Java and build .NET APIs.
- Lead and contribute to system design and own implementation through production support.
- Build production-grade systems with strong observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Use AWS services to build highly available, cloud-native systems.
- Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using Harness.
- Optimize systems for performance, latency, throughput, scalability, fault tolerance, and cost.
Requirements
- Strong experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Flink or similar stream-processing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.
- Strong proficiency in .NET or Java.
- Experience building highly observable and operationally mature systems with monitoring, logging, and alerting practices.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Understanding of cost implications when designing systems, including projecting costs as systems scale.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Benefits
- Base salary compensation range of GBP 68,200.00-95,333.33 annually, with a 12.5% annual bonus target.
