Base Salary
$116k - $160k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, optimize, and maintain reliable, scalable, distributed microservices from prototype through production.
- Automate development and deployment processes to reduce roadblocks and improve delivery consistency.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, performant REST and gRPC APIs for internal and external consumers.
- Use Protocol Buffers and asynchronous processing technologies to support high-throughput data streams.
- Evaluate backend technical feasibility and optimize applications for performance.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, systematic troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional backend development experience with complex, scalable cloud services.
- Experience deploying backend services in AWS Lambda and Kubernetes environments and containerizing applications with Docker.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin; TypeScript backend or serverless experience is a plus.
- Hands-on AWS experience with services such as EC2, Lambda, MSK, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, Secrets Manager, and Parameter Store.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming, message queues such as Kafka, SQS, and NATS, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with DynamoDB, ElastiCache, and evaluating relational versus non-relational data solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Git and experience with production troubleshooting and monitoring using tools such as Datadog and Amazon CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with ArgoCD and Helm is a strong plus.
