Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead complex optimization initiatives from problem definition and technical design through implementation, rollout, and outcome validation.
- Build reusable software, data pipelines, dashboards, automation, and cloud-native services that connect cloud spend, utilization, unit economics, reliability, and engineering productivity.
- Partner with Engineering and Finance leadership to establish baselines, success measures, cost-benefit assumptions, delivery options, and validated savings outcomes.
- Diagnose inefficiencies across distributed services and data platforms and improve compute, storage, data movement, capacity, and workload placement.
- Productionize AI- and analytics-enabled forecasting, anomaly detection, and operational automation while evaluating accuracy, cost, security, and human oversight.
- Design and operate scalable, available, secure, and maintainable services using infrastructure as code, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Own integrations between engineering telemetry, billing, financial planning, and reporting, including data contracts, reconciliation checks, lineage, and auditable metrics.
- Support capacity planning, cost allocation, tagging, chargeback, and forecasting processes.
- Troubleshoot production and data-quality issues and ensure compliance with engineering, security, and operational standards.
- Mentor junior engineers through design guidance, code reviews, and technical coaching, and communicate recommendations, risks, assumptions, and outcomes to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience using languages such as Python, Go, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Rust, or Scala.
- Ability to turn ambiguous business objectives into technical designs, phased delivery plans, and measurable outcomes across multiple services or teams.
- Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider, including applying billing, utilization, allocation, and capacity data to cloud optimization decisions.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-native services with CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure as code using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Terraform.
- Experience with microservices, containers, and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, or OKE.
- Strong SQL skills and exposure to data and analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Presto, EMR, PostgreSQL, or Aerospike.
- Experience building dashboards, automated reporting, data pipelines, or observability solutions using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, or business intelligence platforms.
- Ability to analyze technical and financial data, quantify tradeoffs, debug scoped issues, and convert findings into engineering actions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across Engineering, Finance, Product, Architecture, Data, Platform, SRE, compliance, and end-user stakeholders.
- Adtech or advertising industry experience and experience with FinOps, cloud cost optimization, forecasting, AI-assisted engineering, or advertising and audience platforms are preferred but not required.
