Responsibilities

  • Architect system management features across the i.MX portfolio and drive SoC hardware support for system control.
  • Port system management firmware to new i.MX SoCs and development boards.
  • Develop tests to improve system management code coverage and assess firmware performance metrics.
  • Create documentation and support collateral for system management firmware.
  • Collaborate with SoC architecture, BSP, System ROM, ELE ROM/firmware, U-Boot, ATF, Linux, and MCU SDK teams to integrate and optimize system management functions.
  • Support internal teams with porting, debugging, and optimization of system management firmware on customer systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a similar discipline.
  • At least two years of software development experience with embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in C programming on embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with Linux shell commands and tools, including Git and make, for embedded software development.
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M and ARM Cortex-A architectures.
  • Knowledge of ARM assembly language.
  • Preferred: knowledge of embedded debug tools and probes such as Lauterbach.
  • Preferred: knowledge of embedded power management, including DVFS, CPUIdle, and suspend-to-RAM.
  • Preferred: knowledge of HDL such as Verilog or VHDL.
  • Preferred: knowledge of the ARM System Control and Management Interface specification.
