Responsibilities

  • Study customer and internal specifications and create component design documents based on the software architecture.
  • Develop C++ software components for embedded Linux telematics applications.
  • Clarify ambiguous technical requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform functional, unit, and system testing and participate in code reviews.
  • Analyze existing embedded software to add features, modify functionality, fix bugs, and port software to other platforms.
  • Debug software using gdb, perform root cause analysis, implement fixes, and verify their effectiveness.
  • Identify product requirements and performance issues and work with the software team leader on resolutions.
  • Improve required KPIs and propose optimal technical solutions.
  • Coordinate software development with HARMAN teams and work with customers to define requirements and resolve issues.
  • Occasionally travel internationally for training or coordination with other groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another relevant IT-connected specialization.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a software developer.
  • At least 3 years of C++ development experience.
  • Good knowledge of Embedded Linux and Linux.
  • Experience developing embedded applications and working with embedded operating systems.
  • Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, and socket communication.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of software development processes.
  • Preferred experience with TCP and UDP protocols, UML, and Linux Kernel development.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%.
